Suddenly but peacefully at the Civic Dialysis Unit at The Ottawa Hospital on Friday January 15, 2021 at the age of 78.
Predeceased by her loving husband and best friend Fern Rochon. They can now spend an eternity together with Sammi by their side. Loving Mother and hero of Kim Belecque (Mike) and Kevin Phillips (Heather). Cherished Grandmother (Beema) of Shannon Delcourt (Nick) and Shayla Belecque (Jacob Lamontagne). Was so thrilled to have just become a Great Grandmother to Adley Gail born on January 13, 2021. Not only does she carry your name but your spirit as well. She lived for her Grandchildren and loved them more, more, more than anything in the world. Predeceased by her parents Margaret and Bill Thompson. Dear sister to Heather Boivin (Mike) and Brian Thompson (Lorena). Loved by many nieces, nephews and friends. May you always feel the breeze on your face while sitting on the porch at the Farm, cafe royale in hand because this is “just where you need to be”. In the words of A.A. Milne:
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard”.
Thank you to the Civic Dialysis Staff and Physicians for your ongoing compassionate care. You really made a difference in her life. A very special Thank you as well to the Revera Valley Stream Retirement Residence staff for their care and for the special friendships she found while living there. (Paula, Wayne, Ruth, Pastor Fred, and Marlene).
A private family visitation will take place in the care of Tubman Funeral Homes. Due to COVID restrictions there will be no memorial service at this time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Ottawa Hospital Dialysis Program through the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
