June G. Pye (Armitage)

June passed away peacefully, after a brief illness in hospital on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, with family by her side.  She was 91.  June was born at South March (Ottawa) of loving parents Joan and Godfrey Armitage.  June was predeceased by her loving husband Brian (2018) after 63 years of marriage.  She is survived by her children, daughters Joanne Milligan (Mike), Nancy Pynn (Andy) (Len predeceased 2008), Barbara Ulan (Ross) and son Robin (Lynda) and her grandchildren Jonathon Milligan (Cassandra), Andrew Milligan (Ainsley), Brian Pye and Kristen Pye (Dan), and her many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her brothers Roly and Kingsley (Heather), and sister-in-law Kay (brother Frank).  She was predeceased by her brothers Maxwell, Robin, Bill, Frank and her sister Peggy Scott (George).

Mom loved her rural roots, her family, camping, boating, cottaging, travel, golfing, X-C skiing, gardening, reading, and birding.  Both Mom and Dad were avid birders, building elaborate birdhouses, and caring for many generations of blue birds and purple martins over the years.

Thank you to the wonderful caring staff of The Ottawa General Hospital for their excellent care during her illness, and Windsor Park Retirement Home where she lived for three years prior to her hospitalization.
